Beckwith Farm provides 50 acres of blueberries, including five different varieties. The Land preparation and planting was substantially completed in the fall 2010. Full production and maximum yield will not occur until 2014 or 2015.
2010 unexpectantly found a large number of Canada Geese were attracted to the farm and the new blueberry plants. The Canada Geese did considerable damage to the young plants, as well as provided a considerable challenge to deter as Canada Geese are not considered a traditional predator of blueberry plants.
